On 7th September, we started our long journey to Bexhill-on-Sea, England. Before the ferry ride there was a security check. The first round was easy, take out your passport and ID card and show them. But at the second round I had to wait a few minutes for either Mrs. Seuberlich or Mr. Kaut. Otherwise I couldn’t go through. While I was waiting, my friends started panicking and sent Mr. Kaut back to check on me. Later, on the ferry, we took pictures of ourselves. At the end we met our host family. They had two cats, Pickle and Peanut, who were very cute. The bus ride was a pure mix of singing and laughing.
It wasn’t the best weather for doing a rally or going hiking in the Seven Sisters the next day. But we did it anyway and had a lot of fun. Towards the end of our hike, I was telling Mrs. Seuberlich about the sole of my shoe sliding backwards, when she suddenly started laughing. I had accidentally said “Schuhmatratze” instead of “Schuheinlage”. Our trousers and shoes were very dirty.
London was a fun experience. We went on a short ferry ride on the River Thames and saw lots of famous sights like the London Eye and Big Ben. We bought souvenirs, got lost in a Tesco Express and used the Underground, which was very crowded. A few people from my class were chased by geese, because they were eating sandwiches in a park in Greenwich.
On Thursday we went to Brighton. We took some pictures from the i360 tower and headed back to the bus. We drove a little while. After we arrived, we went on a short walk, and got to the beach. There, my friends and I searched for seashells. I found two and my friend found four, but she gave them to me and another friend later. They were still teasing me because my bag was so heavy that my name was announced over loudspeaker. After that my friend and I just couldn’t stop laughing. We planned on taking the cats with us the next day.
On Friday, the Border Control was way easier. Sadly we couldn’t bring Pickle and Peanut with us. Staying with the host family was different, but also a unique and exciting experience. Overall the weather was nice and sunny, and the trip was a very fun, memorable and adventurous experience.

Our Trip to England 🇬🇧
Our trip to England was an amazing experience and definitely something we will remember for a long time. We stayed with a very friendly host family, which gave us the chance to experience everyday life in England. They also had two lovely cats, and we really enjoyed spending time with them.
During our trip, we visited London and saw famous places like Tower Bridge. We also went on a boat trip on the River Thames and had a great view of the city and its impressive buildings. Of course, we also had some time for shopping. There were so many cool shops that we don’t usually see in Germany, so walking around and discovering them was a lot of fun.
Another highlight was our trip to the Seven Sisters. The white cliffs and the sea were beautiful, even though the walk was quite exhausting. At the end, our shoes and trousers were completely covered in mud – so we definitely brought a little piece of England home with us! 😄
We also tried typical British food like fish and chips, spent a lot of time together and made many funny memories.
The trip was not only a great opportunity to improve our English, but also to discover British culture, become more independent and experience something new. We would definitely recommend this trip to other students – it is an experience you shouldn’t miss! 🇬🇧✨
